The Tiger Cats species complex is comprised of four distinct taxonomic entities, with two currently recognized species, Leopardus tigrinus (including the subspecies tigrinus, pardinoides, oncilla) and Leopardus guttulus, that potentially could comprise 3-4 entirely different species.
